You Are Not Smarter Than AI

I tweeted something a couple of days ago and it deserved more than a tweet.

The line was: you are not smarter than the aggregate of all human knowledge, therefore you are generally not smarter than AI.

I’m not saying it’s perfect. I’m not saying it’s never wrong. I’m saying that for the digital work most of us do, it has been trained on the sum of everything ever written about that domain, and choosing the manual version of that work out of pride is a preference, not a standard.

This is what nine months of actually using this every day has done to the way I think. Not what I picked up secondhand. What I’ve lived.
