Websites Are My Loss Leader Now

I got into an argument with my AI about a client sales pitch. It told me I didn’t really want to rebuild their website, because what I actually want is the operations work underneath it. It was wrong, and why it’s wrong is the whole video. It comes down to abstraction layers: the lower you sit in the stack, the less muck anything has to fight through to do what you need. That’s why I moved off page builders and onto Astro and Next.js, with the whole project living in a repo I control. The rebuild isn’t the product I’m selling anymore. It’s the loss leader that buys me access to everything that comes after it.
