Codex is OpenAI’s coding agent. I’ve heard really good things, and some people say it’s even better than Claude Code for certain tasks. I’ve tried it and it’s solid. If you only have an OpenAI subscription and don’t have a Claude subscription, I’d probably try Codex first. I have both, but I’m having a lot of success with Claude Code, so I just haven’t given Codex as much time yet.
