Banking Finance Business

Mercury is my business banking platform as of July 2026. It’s technically the third or fourth bank I’ve used on the business side. I had Azlo first, and when they shut down I moved to Novo, which I used for several years. Now I’m on Mercury.

I actually heard about Mercury years ago, right around the same time I first heard about Novo, but they’ve changed their products significantly since then. It’s a much more technical platform now, which is what pulled me over. You can open checking and savings accounts yourself right under your own login, which is really nice. I have three separate logins for my three LLCs. There’s a credit card situation that I don’t personally use, but it’s cool that it’s there. They do personal accounts too, and from what I hear there’s more coming down the pipeline. They’re working toward being their own bank, which is interesting.

Honestly, I didn’t have anything bad to say about Novo. The one real gap was that there was no API for looking at anything or doing anything programmatically. SimpleFIN has helped me a lot there, but I just needed a change, and Mercury is objectively a cooler platform.

I’ve also never had a brick and mortar bank on the business side. I had one for personal and moved away from it. I don’t have any problem with online banks, a lot of them are backed by real establishments anyway, and I love the extra stuff you get with a fintech bank. I’m literally just switching over as I write this so I don’t have a ton of hands-on experience yet, but I’ve heard really good things.
