Elgato Key Light
Professional LED panel light with app-controlled brightness and color temperature.
This was the first key light I bought, and the fact that I could control it from my computer was a game-changer. I skipped the whole phase of dealing with remotes and physical controls on lights. If you’re trying to film content, get something you can control through an app or your computer. You don’t want to make lighting complicated when you’re trying to record.
It gets very bright, it works well, and I’ve wired it up to the Stream Deck Pedal so I can turn it on and off with my foot. My one complaint is that I wish it had native smart home integration. It should be directly integrated into Google Home or Home Assistant. There are workarounds, but it’s stupid that it’s not built in at this point. The diffuser could also be better. It’s great for streaming, but there are probably better lights for pure video production. That said, it’s treated me well and I’ve had no real issues with it.
