Dell 27 Plus 4K Monitor (S2725QS)
27-inch 4K IPS monitor with 120Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, and built-in speakers.
I went through a whole monitor saga before landing on these. I had a Samsung 49-inch super ultrawide for years, then switched to a pair of LG 27-inch 144Hz gaming monitors. Those LGs had a 3.4 rating on Amazon, and I ignored the reviews. Four months in, one of them already had lines and specks on the display. Lesson learned.
These Dell monitors are half the price of those LGs and seemingly great. 27 inches, 4K, 120Hz. The form factor is right for my setup. One thing to be aware of: if you leave a static image on the screen for a few hours, you can get temporary image persistence. It’s not actual burn-in, and it does fade, but it’s annoying. I’m pretty hyper-aware of it now. It seems to be a characteristic of the panel technology. But for $240 each for a 4K 120Hz monitor, I’m not complaining. Those $500 LGs had the worst quality control I’ve ever seen, so these are a massive win.
