People are trying to complicate this. Just get VS Code, the Claude Code extension, and a Claude subscription, and go to town. Every other thing like Windsurf or Cursor or whatever else, they’re all basically clones of VS Code. Maybe they have some cool features, but now you’re paying for something where you don’t even know where the features are coming from. And when something gets messed up, it’s harder to debug.
I want more simplicity and more power. That’s what I want, and I feel like I’m moving that way with what I have. VS Code is the main example. You really don’t need more than that.
