Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II

I could have gone with a prime lens, but I like the flexibility of being able to zoom in and out. I don’t see a big enough quality difference to justify losing that versatility for my use case. The glass on this thing is incredible. People regularly compliment the image quality, and this lens is a big part of why.

You can get off-brand lenses for Sony E-mount, and they’ll work, but the GM glass is on another level. I spent a lot of time agonizing over which lens to get, and looking back, I wish I’d just moved faster. Paired with the A7IV, this combo produces fantastic video. If you’re doing desk content and want to capture your whole setup in the frame, this focal range is perfect.
