Camera Video Studio

I had a Sony ZV-1 vlogging camera for a long time, and it worked, but when I started building out the teleprompter setup and wanted better video quality, I knew I had to upgrade. A buddy of mine helped steer me in the right direction, and I’m so glad I pulled the trigger on this.

It’s expensive, and it mostly just sits on the desk, but the output is incredible. I constantly get compliments on how crispy the video looks. It’s an investment, but from a production quality standpoint, it’s been worth every dollar. I rented a couple of different setups from LensRentals before committing, which I’d recommend doing if you’re on the fence.

The one thing I’ll say is that you almost need a PhD to actually set this thing up properly. The settings are deep and complex, and you really do have to learn the camera to get the most out of it. But once you get it dialed in, you don’t think about it anymore. I went back and forth for too long before buying. If you’re considering it, just do it. Whatever you’re buying is probably better than what you have, so it doesn’t need to be the perfect upgrade.
