Claude Skill for Building an Astro Site From a URL
Give it a domain. It reads what the business already has, works out what they actually do, picks a design direction on purpose, and builds a static Astro site. The build method I use, pulled out as a skill you can run.
The Skill File
A Claude Code skill (SKILL.md) that walks the whole build: inventory the existing site, work out the business, lock a design direction before any code exists, then build and deploy it static.
The Inventory Script
inventory_site.py, a dependency-free Python script that prints every heading, link, image, form field, and text block on a page in document order, plus the title, meta, and any contact details it finds. Standard library only. This is what stops a rebuild from quietly dropping the paragraph carrying the offer.
The Gotchas
The scar tissue from real builds: the minifier bug that silently fuses words together in production, why object-position cannot rescue a portrait photo in a wide slot, and four more that will cost you an afternoon each if you meet them cold.
