Sponsored Content Policy

I am going to be completely transparent and honest with you about my approach to affiliate marketing, sponsored content, and accepting money from companies.

First, let me give you the “inside baseball” on what I’ve experienced so far as a WordPress content creator with a small online following.

As soon as I started gaining a little bit of momentum, subscribers, and views, all sorts of companies started reaching out asking me to promote their products.

To be honest, it’s very flattering at first and difficult to not jump at every offer.

That said, I value my integrity and I will never shill random bullshit just because I was offered money to do so.

Moving on, let’s think about the objective reality of the situation.

The goal of any business is to stay in business by making money.

These companies want their tools to be promoted, so they can sell more and turn a profit.

They reach out to someone like me to leverage the good will I have built up with my audience (you).

So, how do I process these opportunities and make a decision on them?

Well, I’ve used many different tools throughout my career, some good, some bad.

If a tool and the team behind it are great, I want to promote them.

If I currently use a tool, I’m absolutely going to promote it because I want to share how it helps me.

Why do I have to take money from companies, though?

If I’m going to promote a tool, that tool is going to make money.

I, too, like to make money. Hopefully you do as well, and can understand this.

If those tools have affiliate programs, I will be participating in them.

I create a hefty amount of content.

Most of it is quality, helpful content (hopefully you agree).

Creating said quality content takes a lot of time and energy.

I do it because I enjoy it and I get satisfaction from helping others.

That said, I need to make money in exchange for all the time I dedicate to it (and YouTube AdSense does not pay as much as you might think).

If I didn’t make money from it, this would not be sustainable, and I would not be able to make more content for you. A lose-lose, so to speak.

This will manifest in a couple ways:

1. Affiliate Marketing

On my YouTube and other social channels, I’m going to be talking about and demoing tools and products that I believe in.

I will then be linking to their websites.

If you see a link, assume it’s an affiliate link, because there’s a good chance it will be.

If you click it and make a purchase, you will be supporting me, my work, and my family. I will be eternally grateful.

If you don’t click it, I will be equally eternally grateful for your attention.

2. Sponsored Content

A company will pay me in advance to publish a piece of content about their product.

The sponsor will NOT get to see the content before it is published.

I will tell you it’s a sponsored piece of content that I was compensated to create.

I will give you my honest opinion about the product.

Then, you can decide if you want to try it out or not.

Everything I say is my own opinion. I will never be told what to say.

Thank you for your support. Now and always.
